Trump running again would be a gift to Democrats and America

The biggest parting gift Donald Trump could give America now is to announce his candidacy for president again.

It would be a gift to President Biden, who will once again beat him like a drum in any new game, but it would also be an unintended gift to the wider nation as the mid-terms proved that America has become wise to this at last. it would be authoritarian and its unmistakable anti-democratic streaks.

The only thing that could make another Trump presidential run even more favorable to the Democrats right now is the announcement that Elon Musk has volunteered to run his campaign.

“President Trump is going to announce on Tuesday that he’s running for president and it’s going to be a very professional, buttoned-down announcement,” Miller told Bannon. “We ran through this morning with the logistics team and the wonderful ones on board.”

Trump is simply political Kryptonite. By any standard, the recent midterms were historically bad for Republicans, who had fallen ridiculously for their own propaganda and were predicting a red wave – a red tsunami really.

The circumstances were certainly favorable. Biden’s popularity was under water, although his programs were well received. Inflation had risen along with gas prices, things should have favored the GOP.

But it was a red mirat. The only red wave they saw on Tuesday turned out to be the ketchup-colored walls of Mar-a-Lago, where – as Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony reported – Trump is most likely to recreate the epic tantrum he once witnessed to him, throwing another can full of Heinz at the walls of the White House.

One would need a heart of stone not to laugh at the result of all his recent endorsements – just ask Mehmet Oz, Don Bolduc, Blake Masters, Kari Lake, and others.

Voters seem to be immune to the siren call of MAGA extremism, election denial, and minority bashing. It turns out that armed rebellions that seek to overthrow the United States are not popular.

It seems that young people do not support having their LGBT friends and family targeted and defeated by draconian bills and big political pandering.

Women don’t seem to appreciate that conservative GOP-appointed justices unceremoniously took away their right to choose.

Attacking modest student loan forgiveness but supporting a bailout for Wall Street seems to get you young voters – and it turns out they’ll vote you out.

Dark times in Trump’s inner circle. Talked to several friends, donors and long time helpers in the last 24 hours. Many say that he listens to very few people, is isolated, and thinks about his potential rivals. Many of them say they are tired of his rants and avoid him.

Claiming to be the only wave that lifts all boats, Trump is actually the hurricane that sinks them. But don’t take my word for it, in fact, ignore my word. Rally around him once again.

It’s unfortunate that Trump stole the most classified documents in the country and took them to his minimum security golf resort.

It is unfortunate that he provoked an armed rebellion in which people were killed and the Vice President threatened with hanging. So instead of running for president, I’d rather see him impeached.

But in the meantime I hope he starts his ill-advised new presidential campaign in the state of Georgia by also helping – I’m sorry to confirm – the fate of Herschel Walker.

Then hopefully he and his remaining supporters will echo his increasingly sour attacks on Ron DeSanctimonious, Glenn Youngkin, and Mitch McConnell.

Knock yourselves out.
