Spring Valley Beach in Blountsville is so much fun! The water park has several water slides, a children’s area and a large swimming pool.

Of course, you can always cool off and swim in one of North Alabama’s eight great lakes: Bear Creek Lakes, Lake Guntersville, Blue Henry Lake, Peacock Lake, Smith Lake, Weiss Lake, Wheeler Lake and Wilson Lake.

Before working for AMLA, Mila earned a master’s degree in secondary education at UNA and taught middle school English and taught high school students for three years. He also taught English at Calhoun Community College for 8 1/2 years. Prior to that he worked in public relations for an advertising agency in Atlanta, for a minor league soccer team in Columbus, Georgia, and in Auburn University’s development office. Last year, Mila started her own social media marketing company with a partner called M&M Social. He enjoys writing, traveling, walking in the park (he walked over 600 miles in 2020), going to Auburn games, and reading WWII books. Crying Eagle Ziplines at Guntersville State Park is amazing! Cheering Eagle Ziplines has two exciting levels. If you love adventure, you’ll love ziplining at Guntersville State Park. The second best thing about driving through the trees is the amazing view of Lake Guntersville from the top. Level 1 has beautiful views, but level 2 is the best!

Five years ago, the city of Red Bay opened a water park. The water park has brought economic benefits to everyone.

Red Bay Water Park is one of its kind in Franklin County. Many people from the city came to see it.

“We have kids from west Alabama, north Mississippi coming to our new park,” said Jeff Reed, Mayor of Red Bay.

“We’ve brought them from Lawrenceburg, TN, Florence, Tupelo…” said Shelia Johnston, director of Red Bay Parks and Recreation.

An average of 125 to 150 people visit the water park every day. The mayor said that having an attraction like this is an added bonus.

And this means more money for communities and better taxes. The water park is also an increase in activity. There are 18 lifeguards in the water park.”

The water park has 3 pools and 2 big slides. The mayor hopes that this park will expand further in the future.
