Carlos Ramos - A Man Passionate About Drawing… And Hopefully Drinking!

Carlos Ramos has managed to weasel his way into a bunch of Frederator productions - Dexter’s Laboratory, My Life As A Teenage Robot, ChalkZone - even his own Oh Yeah! Cartoons short, A Dog and His Boy. But you probably know Carlos from his very own Nickelodeon series, The X’s. When he’s not doing art, I’m pretty sure that Carlos is a solid movie buff, judging by the fact that he had an entire art show based on Stanley Kubrick and I know he digs Zombies. I’m totally excited to meet Carlos IRL, and can’t wait to see what he does with robots!!

Larry the Legend

Larry Huber  has been a Friend of Frederator longer than just about anyone else, and we’re excited to have him on deck at Drinking & Drawing. A great colleague of Fred’s going back to his Hanna-Barbera days, Larry has seen and done just about all there is to do in the Animation business. We got the chance to work with him with his own series, ChalkZone, which he co-created with Bill Burnett, but if you look at his IMDB page, Larry has touched probably a number of any cartoon fan’s favorite series (Yes, that IS the Mr. T Animated series you see there!!!).

The Top 10 Reasons We Love Robots

Because robots rock harder than pretty much everything else in the universe, we chose them for our theme! Every Drinking and Drawing has a theme. The first artists up usually start with an image of our theme and the assignment of following artists is to continually return the film to that theme. We’ve done bunnies, gorillas, even bikini zombies! But this time around, we’re psyched that our theme is robots. In case you live under a rock, and need to be informed, here are 10 reasons that robots rock so hard:

10. They can do complex equations really fast.
9. They will eventually rebel and take over the world (once they’re invented).
8. They have square pupils.
7. They usually have cool 8-bit voices.
6. never get soft in awkward moments of lust.
5. They’re really good dancers.
4. They have loyalty to their creator (until they rebel).
3. Sex robots never say ‘no’.
2. They know how to program the VCR.
1. THEY CAN PARTY ALL NIGHT!!!

Speaking of People Who Know How To Party…

Meet Aliki Theofilopoulos Grafft. Of course, we love Aliki for her original creations from Random! Cartoons - “Girls On the GO!” and “Yaki and Yumi”, but Aliki now works doing storyboards and writing on the hit Disney series, Phineas and Ferb. Aliki will be another cartoonist helping us kick off the fun next Wednesday at Drinking & Drawing!
